    Barbara has utilized her 30 years of experience in direct service, group facilitation, teaching, and supervisory work to create staff training and personal growth workshops. The range in topics covers education for human service providers (probation officers, counselors, therapists, other change agents), professional enhancement (for both human service and business personnel), and personal growth issues (please see “Workshop Titles” tab for full lists of specific topics). 

    A most recent specialty is "Motivational Interviewing", a workshop that shares the skills and concepts of an evidence-based, markedly effective approach to working with resistant clients. She has also developed follow-up workshops, consultation and coaching in this important topic.

    Her workshops are highly interactive and lively. There is ample opportunity during every workshop for participants to apply core concepts and skills. Barbara strives for “lofty information, but not a lofty presentation” – instead, presenting material in a concise, user-friendly, integrated way so that audience members can leave her workshops with immediately-applicable knowledge and skills (see “Client Testimonials” tab). She prides herself on being able to custom-design workshop material to fit the specific content needs, allotted time available, and size of audience that her clients present.
